"Japanese Gardens, Ancient and Modern"

Details: Surely Spring will look a little more like a possibility by now, so what better time to turn our thoughts to gardening! Lee Schneller returns with a presentation of her favorite photos and subject. "Japanese gardens first appeared at least 1,700 years ago and have evolved greatly over time. Throughout the ages, though, the Japanese garden has always been remarkable for its sensitive arrangement of elements which produce a sublime simplicity. This talk and slide show, illustrated with

Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser

Details: ELHS Music Association will hold a spaghetti supper and silent auction on Saturday April 5 starting at 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave, Auburn. The Amazon Adventure

Details: A talk about the Amazon ecology, birds, fish, animals and people will be presented Monday, April 7th, at the monthly meeting of the Stanton Bird Club. The presentation will be by Keith Williams Ph.D., a semi-retired environmental scientist. He will discuss the snail kite, man-eating piranha, iguana, sloth, howling monkey and more.
Williams earned his PhD. in environmental science from the University of Oklahoma and has made two ecology trips to the Amazon in Brazil. He is currently an adjunct mathematics professor at Central Maine Community College.

Readers’ Theater - 'Oleanna'

Details: Over 40 students participate each semester in chamber ensembles. These include a brass quintet, one or more small wind ensembles, several string quartets and quintets, and ensembles with strings and piano.
