Inanna: Sisters in Rhythm - Benefit Concert!!!

Where: Starting at the corner of Maine & Jefferson Sts. Down Main St. onto Alfred St. onto Graham St. Ext. and onto West St. to St. Louis Field where all weekend activities take place.

Details: St. Louis Field gates open to the public at 4:00p. In the event of inclement weather, the decision to cancel the parade will be made by 4pm. Local radio and tv stations will be notified. NO RAIN DATE. After the parade there will be musical entertainment and much more!

Greek Heritage Festival

Where: Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Grounds - 133 Pleasant Street, Portland

Time: 11:00a - 10:00p

Cost: Free and open to the public

Details: This spectacular three-day Greek Festival is a wonderful family event that each year draws more than 10,000 visitors from around the greater Portland area. Along with the exquisite Greek cuisine, there will be live music and traditional dancing. Guests will dine on exceptional Greek food, cooked the old-fashioned way by hard-working members of the Holy Trinity parish, using authentic Greek recipes, all-natural ingredients and lots of tender, loving care. Wells Harbor Community Park FREE Concerts

Where: Hope Hobbs Gazebo, Wells Harbor Park – Harbor Road, Wells

Time: 6:30pm

Details: Bring a cushion if you plan on using the benches or folding chairs or a blanket just in case the benches are all taken. Picnic dinner and/or snacks and insect repellent is also a good idea :-) Take exit #19 off of 95, take a left onto Sanford Rd (Rt109), left onto Rt 1, right onto Harbor Rd.

 

L.L. Bean Summer Concert Series

Where: L.L. Bean Flagship Store – Main Street, Freeport

Cost: Free

Details: Various musicians will be playing throughout the summer. The lawn fills up quickly so arrive early with a blanket/lawn chairs, bug spray, and appropriate clothing for the weather.

Where: Northern York County Family YMCA - 3 Pomerleau Street, Biddeford

Cost: Free

Details: Come have fun in the pool while getting great exercise and having from with your friends! This group is open to CWS houses who have a pass to the YMCA. If your house does not have a pass, but you are interested please contact Judi Harle and/or Emily Perkins by calling 879-1140.

Lewis Gallery Exhibits
Exhibit: Immigrants on the Waterfront - Photographs by Nancy Angela Ciocca

Open Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 to 6, Tuesday and Thursday 12 to 9, and Saturday 9 to 5.

Details: The Lewis Gallery hosts monthly exhibits of established and emerging artists from Maine and New England. Drawings, paintings, photography, tapestries, weavings, book arts and sculpture are among the media shown in recent months. The Gallery is located in the lower level of the Portland Public.

 

Bates College Museum of Art

Exhibit: The Kimono and Traditional Japanese Culture: Investigating Kimono through Ukiyo-e in the Bates College Art Museum Collection

Details: For this entry in the museum’s Students in the Vault series, Hisa Abe ’08 has assembled woodblock prints in the “Ukiyo-e” genre that highlight the roles, variety and importance of kimono patterns in these widely distributed scenes of popular culture. Open April 4th – July 19th .
